JAAGO established free-of-cost formal schooling to ensure quality education for the underprivileged children of Bangladesh. It aims to eliminate poverty and illiteracy from Bangladesh through education and rebuilding the nation by empowering youth. It is registered under the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, under the Societies Act XXI of 1860, by the Government of Bangladesh. The journey started in a small room with 17 students, a whiteboard and a carpet. Today, they have 3000 students studying in 12 districts of Bangladesh. Today, this nationwide youth platform presently exists in 32 districts and has around 30,000 registered volunteers across the country.
